Mogson Studio is not only an art or live music venue, we are also a top notch recording studio as well. Every room, have beautiful sonic value and contribute 16 channels of pristine musical sound to the control room, AKA our “recording lounge”. The lounge has amenities that the general public can enjoy including comfy club chairs, sofas and recliners. There are games, magazines and books to read if you forgot your laptop. Or you can log in, dig in to some cheese & crackers, and enjoy a bottle of wine all while “working from home”.
In the recording lounge, you will find the heart of the studio. The rare & classic 1978 Allen & Heath Syncon A. This is one of the highest fidelity and most musical sounding mixing consoles that has ever been produced. These are the very 56 channels that recorded and mixed, the 1991 platinum Spin Doctors album “Pocketful of Kryptonite”. It’s an all discrete mixer, meaning that there are zero integrated circuits – a big plus for fidelity. The multi-platinum 1983 Police album “Synchronicity II” was also recorded and mixed on the A&H Syncon A. Rupert Neve has been hailed as the father of the best sounding audio mixers in the world. Many top recording engineers have dubbed this model the “Baby Neve”.
